Small neat and highly desirable, these are ideal for small pots, troughs or the rockery. All fully hardy but need good drainage over winter.

While the marginata and x pubescens  varieties are happy outside the allioii and other small european vatieties need protection from  winter wet (as a substitute to prolonged snow cover) in a cold greenhouse, coldframe or alpine house.
